What is in the roots and in the heart of contact improvisation?

In these moments of celebrating more than 50 years of contact improvisation, I honor and question dance and its roots. I explore the practice that underlies the visible in dance.

We delve into the principles of form and train body and mind to be ready and receptive to allowing physics to affect the body as we dance. We notice the details of the body and work on them with our attention, alone and with others. We allow the dance to flow through us, letting it happen, supporting it rather than doing it.
